Ever wished you could talk through things with a trusted tutor while you’re studying?

Tutor helps you work through challenges and solidify your learning as you’re quizzing. Unlike other AI tools, Tutor won’t undermine your learning by simply giving you the answers when you’re stuck. Instead, it prompts you to think through what you already know and arrive at the correct answer yourself.

Tutor is an AI-powered chatbot that’s available in all quiz modes except Mock Exam, Assignments, and Question of the Day. It’s currently only on web, but will be available on our mobile apps later this year. Tutor is trained on the same trusted exam prep content that you’ve come to expect from Pocket Prep.

In each chat, Tutor is aware of the quiz question you are working on and will provide textbook references for further reading on the concept. Use the arrows in the question frame to go back to any chat during the quiz. Once you submit the quiz, you can revisit the conversation anytime by retaking the quiz.

The goal of most AI chatbots is to serve up the information you’re seeking as quickly as possible. But when your goal is to learn and retain information, chatbots can undermine your progress by taking away opportunities for metacognition (considering your own thought processes and learning strategies) and productive struggle (fostering a deeper understanding and resilience by working through challenges).

Tutor addresses those issues by operating with learning science principles in mind. It’s there for you when you need support on a quiz question, but its goal is to facilitate your understanding of the material, not give away the answer. Tutor might prompt you to share what you already know about the topic at hand, or explain why you chose the answer you did.
