Tutor helps you work through tough questions and solidify your learning as you quiz. Unlike other AI tools, Tutor won’t just hand you the answer when you’re stuck. Instead, it prompts you to think through what you already know and reason your way to the correct answer yourself.
How does Tutor work?
Tutor is an AI-powered chatbot that’s available in our web and mobile apps, inside every quiz mode except Mock Exams and Assignments. It draws from the same trusted exam prep content you’re used to in Pocket Prep. Each chat is tied to the quiz question you're on, and Tutor can point you to textbook references if you want to read more about the concept.
Use the arrows to navigate through the questions if you need to go back to any chat during the quiz. Once you submit the quiz, you can revisit the conversation anytime by retaking the quiz, or accessing the question in review mode in the Android or iOS apps.
How does Tutor help me learn?
The short answer: It helps you connect what you already know to what you’re learning now, leading to a deeper understanding and better retention.
Most AI chatbots are built to serve up the information you're looking for as quickly as possible. But research shows those instant answers can undermine your learning by eliminating opportunities for metacognition (thinking about how you think and study) and productive struggle (gaining a deep understanding and resilience through the effort of working through challenges).
Tutor is designed around learning science principles like these. It's there when you need support on a quiz question, but its job is to help you understand the material, not give away the answer. It might ask what you already know about the topic, or why you chose the answer you did.
