Privacy policies, like many other important business documents, are rarely presented in plain terms. They're often pretty lengthy and read more like contracts than anything else. We realize privacy is important to our customers, which is why this articles aims to succinctly summarize our privacy policy so you can understand it and get back to studying. 👍

We collect three types of data: Personal, Tracking, & Usage

👥 Personal data refers to things like your first name and email address. We use this to personalize your study experience and reach out to you when necessary. For example, when we push critical content updates to the app that may impact your studies, you may get a message from us. It helps having your first name so our messages don't seem "canned" or impersonal. This is especially important if you're in contact with our support team as a name and email address are crucial when trading messages back and forth.

🍪 Tracking data pertains to our website and web app. We use cookies to understand which pages you've visited and how you're interacting with those pages so we can improve the site and make it easier to navigate and find what you're searching for. Cookies aren't just helpful for us, they improve security and make it possible for you to stay logged in. Without them, you'd have to log back in each time your session "timed out," detracting from valuable study time.

📱 Usage data is what we use to support and improve the apps. Things like the number of questions you're attempting each day, when you plan to take your exam, how you're scoring on practice exams... These usage metrics provide invaluable, aggregate feedback about how our customers are studying and what we can do to make it even better.

We're not interested in any data that doesn't directly help us help you in some way, shape, or form. If you have a specific question about what data we capture and how we handle it, please check out our privacy policy. We're happy to answer questions you may have afterward.
