If you began your Pocket Prep studies on a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet, it's important to understand that we do not force our customers to create Pocket Prep accounts. This is important because an account is required to use the app on other devices, such as the web app platform, which can be accessed from your favorite computer.
How do I know if I've created an account?
Visit the mobile app's Settings menu and look for the Account Information area, which is at the very top of that menu. Tap into it. If it's telling you to create an account, take a moment to do that now. Your history and premium status will be migrated to the new account and you'll be ready to log into the web app. Continue reading for step-by-step instructions.
⚠️ Important: Do not create an account from the web app if you've been studying on mobile! The system won't know you paid for premium access through the mobile app and you may end up accidentally overwriting your exam history if you attempt to log into a brand new account on your primary mobile device. We won't be able to recover your history if this happens!
How to correctly transition to an account, step by step:
- Visit the device where you first purchased premium access and where the majority of your exam history and data currently resides (e.g., your main device)
- Tap on the Settings menu and tap on the first large header there (Account Information). If you already have an email address or social media account present there, skip step 3
- Tap the large Create Account button and follow the prompts to enter your favorite email and password or sign up with social media using the buttons below those fields
- Visit the web app and use your new credentials to log in. If you chose to sign up through social media, use the corresponding social media button instead of an email/password
Why not just force everyone to create accounts?
We understand the convenience and security that comes with using a digital product anonymously. We respect your privacy and do not force our customers to register accounts with us.
